Wonderberries are edible plants which produce berries from early summer until fall. These berry plants are annuals in most climates, but they do not tolerate frost. Although wonderberries are part of the nightshade family, they are edible only once they're ripe, but never when they're unripe. If eaten unripe, wonderberries can be poisonous. Even so, wonderberries do not have a pleasant taste unless made into jams, jellies, pies, and preserves.
